Sarah Blenis- I’ve been taking photos since I was about 15 years old, though my older brother would say I always had a camera in my hand even from a very young age. My family moved a lot when I was a kid and we lost a lot of photos throughout the years. My desire to be a photographer and to take photographs came from wanting to make and preserve memories, and recognizing how important that is. I got a nicer ish camera for my 16th birthday and I’ve been on this photography journey ever since. I honestly can say there isn’t much that I DONT enjoy photographing. My desire to preserve memories for myself naturally lended its hand to providing that for other people as well- Elias bought me a film camera around 8 years ago and we’ve kinda been hooked ever since.
Elias Pittman- My dad was a photographer who always set up his own makeshift darkrooms in whatever space he could. I remember finding his old cameras in our attic and taking them to my room. I’d look through the viewfinder of his TLR and frame up shots, but rarely had film. Eventually he gave me an old Nikkormat to learn the basics on and showing me how to print them. I kept up with it through school, but it wasn’t until having a partner who enjoyed getting lost in the creation of images that made me want to get lost in the darkroom again. We eventually started photographing other people and I found that I really enjoy the connection that comes with making portraits, and the collaboration with my partner as well.
together we started taking photos of our friends, family, local musicians and artists and just fell in love with taking photos of people in their most important times in life. we consider ourselves introverted and yet we both have a combined 15+ years in the service industry in various roles so we know how to be extroverted when it comes to doing the best job we can for your session or event. our approach is relaxed, and fun. we are never going to be the people in your face directing you constantly, unless you tell us explicitly that you want or need that for your session in which case we will. we like to laugh a lot , we like to take deep breaths a lot.
